HDL Red
Syrah (the international star), Aragonez (known in Spain as Tempranillo), Touriga Nacional (a grape traditionally used in Port wine) and Alicante Bouschet (from the intense decor game) grow on around 25 hectares of Herdade dos Lagos.
The differentiation that results in the production of different qualities of wine begins in the vineyard itself. The best area is destined for Reserve wines and it is also in this area that there is a more intense pruning. The area with the most shade is destined for Rosé and Blanc de Noir. Since your harvest is the earliest and the one with the least pruning, a lower alcohol content and good acidity are obtained.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the early hours of the morning and transported in cold conditions to the winery.
To produce quality wines in this magnificent environment, we count on the experience of the winemaker Carsten Heinemeyer, with whom we have a close and trusting working relationship since the beginning of the transition to organic production.
